The Opportunity

Perkins Eastman Guayaquil office is searching for a talented (Designer I) who is ready to engage, learn, and contribute to a vibrant and active studio culture. This individual should have a passion for high-quality design and possess strong analytical problem-solving skills within their collaborative process. This position will provide an opportunity to work with integrated design teams on projects of various practice areas, sizes, and complexity. The individual selected must possess the ability to react positively to a variety of design priorities, styles, and project delivery methods. Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead/assists a project team in development of aesthetic design and the preparation of architectural design including drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborates with or serves as the Project Designer for the design of the project.
  • Develops a working process with the team that ensures that the design intent of a project is maintained for the duration of the project.
  • Coordinates the work of design consultants.
  • Meets with client and present design presentations.
  • Supervises assigned staff.
  • Mentors junior staff.
  • Follows established standards for project production and review.
  • Keeps Project Manager and Principal in Charge informed of progress or need for assistance.
  • Assist the studio and leaders with generating Design Services Proposals.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage the design of multiple projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of relevant architecture experience.
  • Can encourage a collaborative work environment.
  • Multi-residential experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication, graphic, organization, technical and written skills
  • Demonstrated experience in and readiness to lead the design of projects.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Can demonstrate proficiency with Revit, Affinity Suite, 3D Max, Sketch-up, InDesign and other related design software. Rhino, Enscape and other related design software is a plus.
  • Proficient with other data management software such as Bluebeam, Word, and Excel.
  • Has Architectural license or is on path to licensure.
  • Has LEED accreditation or is willing to pursue it in the next 12 months.

Salary Range: $20,000 to $25,000 annually.
